The matte black is difficult to photograph, so it looks like that edge is dented, but it is not. Apparently they forgot to wrap it in plastic before placing it inside the foam pouch which i slightly abrasive. I will wrap it in plastic and double box the faucet so the items are well protected. I could repaint that section with matte black paint (I would mask off that section and paint the whole base so it matches), but I haven't touched it so you can see its precise condition. Or you can just leave it as is. It is a fairly small defect. Contact me with any questions or if you want me to paint that section.
