We have hard water and are constantly fighting mineral build up. A local plumber told me, he only buys Moen because they use plastic and it will not corrode. When I read the reviews for this handle, I saw some people were unhappy with the plastic parts but the plastic parts are what I love about this. Looks good, works well and will hopefully last longer than metal components. I am a happy customer.

When we remodeled our bathroom, we decided to replace the plain flush handle with something more decorative, and the Moen Sage Inspirations brushed nickel lever handle fit the bill. The only problem was that the first one I purchased some years ago was made of metal. That sounds like a plus, but in a moist environment, the metal parts in the pivot inside the tank corroded and stuck; so the mechanism stayed in the open position and let water continue to leak out of the tank and into the bowl. When I finally realized was happening, I ordered a replacement from Amazon. The new one has a plastic pivot and internal mechanism; so it looks like this should not rust and seize up like the old one. Recommended. You can always count on Moen for their great products and lifetime warranty’s. I remodeled my whole bathroom using them and it is gorgeous
